Ramp closest to decent fishing spot with underwater structure..... check this out

I am a new kayak fisherman and was wondering if anyone knew some decent spots close to boat ramps I could try out... I just bought a fish finder and I got it off craigslist so idk how to read it properly so if anyone knows any good fishable underwater structure near a boat ramp please let me know..
ANd if you could tell me what the structure is I would appreciate it so I can get used to seeing stuff like that on my fish finder..
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

And if anyone needs a fishing partner/buddy/helper feel free to message me.. I am trying to fish as much as possible

First off welcome aboard and welcome to kayak fishing.
Most all bridges have added cover around them placed by guys that like to nightstalk under the bridges. The best way to know what you are seeing on your DF is to spend some time putting out some brush piles of your own. You put in the work and the rewards of being able to catch fish is what it's all about. Just because you will be fishing from a kayak doesn't mean you have to fish close to the boat ramps. You can cover a lot of water in a short time and learn a lot about the water you are fishing or that you plan to fish. There are many coves and creek runs on Hartwell that are easy to get to that holds a lot of fish. I for one will never tell anyone where to go find my piles but I will post, 1. the depth of water I caught fish at, 2. the depth the fish were holding, 3. the water temp, 4. the water color, 5. the bait and colors that worked best.
From this info you will have a great chance to go catch fish if you look for places like what is in a report plus you don't have to wonder what baits to try first. Bait color may change from morning to noon to dust but if you find where the fish are it is just a matter of trying a few colors until you find what is working.
Enjoy everyday like it is your last and please, Take a kid fishing.

This seems to be a new trend this year. I saw alot of fishing kayaks today and all summer, really, especially on Hartwell. If I had one and wanted a convenient place to launch I would choose the ramp at 12 Mile Park. Zoom into it here at Navionics WebApp - Product Catalog and look for the ramp icon at 12 Mile Park. Go due west from the ramp. You will see a horseshoe shaped bend in the river channel that is next to a small island. That area, which is also next to a cove should be a good place as the temps cool down. Really, anywhere the river channel comes close to a rocky point are good areas there along that whole west bank near there.

I agree with 12 mile area. There are some great places there that holds fish all year. You can find a lot of brush from the ramp to the bridge going up the river. I have never tried but you may be able to slide the kayak in at the upper bridge. Always seem to be some fish holding at that bridge and close by rock banks.

directly in front of the handicapped fishing pier at twin lakes. you should be able to graph the old dike out there from an underwater pond and lots of brush piles.

some lake hartwell fishing maps will show a lots of underwater structure such as, bridges, grave yards, houses, school buldings, dams and road beds and ect. some will give the GPS location to make it quick. look for them in bait shops, boat shops and places like waltmart. and yes they will shop the boat ramps. hope this may help
