My boy and me went out for a few hours today in search of some channel cats and had pretty good luck. We trolled at .4-.5 in 12-18 fow with cut herring. We also picked up a few crappie on minnows. Fun dayIMG_20160227_164329003.jpgIMG_20160227_125842520.jpg

@Jmoorecatfishkiller Just curious what kind of setup you use when drift trolling like this? Just trying to get a point of reference for giving it a try. A general idea of rig type, hook size/type and weight used would be appreciated. Love the pics, can't ever get enough of children smiling and fishing. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, my typical rig for channel cats is a 1/2 ounce Bell or bank sinker on bottom, then I add two 1/0 gold Aberdeen hooks at 4" above the sinker and 16" above the sinker. Its basically a double dropshot rig. I use it on light tackle that most would crappie fish with because I love to feel the fight, even with small fish. I typically pull 6 rods outnof the back of the boat and try to troll .5 mph. 10-25 fow is a normal depth range to try this
