    Couple Cats

Went out today drifting for catfish. My rig setup was a double dropshot rig. I was using crawlers and cut bait. Got started about 7. Caught 5 cats and 8 perch. Biggest cat was 5lbs.

Went back out today drifting for cats. I managed 4. I was out on the water around 7am and stopped fishing around 1130am. Technique and bait was same as the day before. Bite is slow. Maybe due to the fact that fish are spawning. Several i fileted had eggs in them. Hope to get back at them soon!

Slow day striper fishing on Saturday morning but I could have caught all the channel cats I wanted. Picked up cats at all 4 spots. Fished in 25,45, 60, 75 FOW. All channel cats.

    Were you fishing live bait?

Yes, fishing live herring. Although it was very poor, which was why I think I was not catching the stripers despite sitting on top of them. Catfish were the only fish that were willing to take bait that didn't want to get away. This kind of bait doesn't work well for striper. I was very disappointed. You get up at 4AM get to the bait shop at 5 and then get substandard bait.

@Jmoorecatfishkiller , @Hartwell cat hunter, @catfish have any of you been out lately? It would seem some folks are having luck. Hope you are well.

Where are getting your Herring? I'd like to avoid making the same mistake - fresh / lively bait is crucial when Striper fishing.

Depends on where you are on the lake-- if on GA side near hartwell, then The Bait House always has lively bait: https://www.facebook.com/TheBaitHouse641/
